HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2nd JENNYRAVIKUMAR.COM!!!!!!!!
I am screaming from the rooftops!!! This week Jenny Ravikumar Yoga turns two years old. I have been writing my blog for two years exactly and wanted to share a few nuggets with you.
This has been quite the adventure in the last two years. I have taught yoga full-time, worked for a corporate company, run my own non-profit, gotten married to my best friend, had wonderful adventures, moved and become a mom to a new furry baby Apollo (who also turns two this month) and moved our little Digger (now 6) to yet another new humble abode! There are still many more changes to come and I am so excited to have you along on this ride.
Some of you have been here since day one when my blog was still on my non-profit site, others since yogiocho adventures and some of you are brand new and have seen one (or two) versions of jennyravikumar.com. I am super blessed to have you hear for the ride no matter how long you’ve been here!
I wanted to take a moment to simply say THANK YOU for supporting me in all I do! It has been quite the ride and the journey and I know this is only just the beginning. We have such amazing women signed up for The Ahimsa Project and this community is growing larger every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being by my side.
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite past blog posts! I hope you enjoy them and take the time to laugh (sometimes at my behalf), to cry and to believe.
One of my very first blog posts: I have Root Chakra Issues!
A few articles on forgiveness: Forgiveness is Tricky, & I Choose Forgiveness, Do You?
Articles on self-love & my journey: The Fat Journal, Why I Never Wore Flowy Tops, How Being Called Fat Made My Day, Walking the Walk, Don’t Let You Mind Bully Your Body & SO MANY MORE!
I’ve written about chakras & the 8 limbs of yoga.
I interviewed some amazing women in The Woo-Woo Series (and more to come in the next few months)!!
I have answered (and am continuing to answer) all your yoga & self-love questions on Nama Say Wednesdays {{Feel free to leave a comment below with a question}}.
And of course, I have written two years of Magical Mondays!
There is so much more to come on this journey and I am ever grateful to have you along for the ride. Thank you so much for helping me celebrate today by looking through past posts and commenting as you would like!
**And if you have any lingering yoga or self-love questions, please leave a comment below**
Get out there — do yoga & make life SPARKLE!!!
Namaste,
Jenny
I’ve had a back issue that is really nagging. Someone suggested that I try Pilates before Yoga because she says Pilates helps with posture you need for yoga. Yoga is more popular in my neighborhood and my question is which type of yoga is a best place to start? and is it really better to start with pilates?
Thanks for asking Webly!! 🙂 I always say go with yoga first. This is a great question for Nama Say Wednesday. I’ll email you to chat and then create a video response on Wednesday! Thanks for asking & stopping by. Have an amazing day.
Hi Jenny,
what Yoga postures/asanas do you recommend for restless legs Syndrom?
Love
Kiria
Hi Kiria! Thanks so much for asking. I’d recommend a lot of forward folds for restless legs syndrome. (Seated or standing). I would also recommend going up to a wall & placing your legs against the wall. This is a great inversion & should help you!! Hopefully I’ll do a video on this in the coming weeks. Thanks so much for asking!!
How come almost every time I do seated pigeon pose I cry?? (Not from pain – lol! That would be so bad! Just tears streaming kinda thing.) Sometimes the fact that it’s happening makes me laugh at the same time! Am I just weird or what? 🙂
Chel… this is a GREAT question! Hips are stretched in pigeon and they are the sneaky place where we hide our emotions… to dig even deeper I’ll do a video on “Why I cry in Pigeon!!” soon!! 🙂
