The past two weeks have been an unimaginable whirlwind! Barefoot Yoga Shala celebrated its first anniversary in business and my heart melted. I have received so much love, gratitude, gifts and most importantly PRESENCE.

Over the course of this past year I have been trying to put my best into the world. I have learned to fully step into my truth and live authentically in order to create a business that sustained me as a business, but more importantly as a way of life. I wanted to create a COMMUNITY, something that would feed my soul and the souls of others.

When I address all the yogis who attend the Shala in a newsletter, I almost always refer to everyone as a soul warrior. In my personal definition, a soul warrior is someone who arrives whole heartedly in order to practice, give love and receive whatever it is they need for that moment. I often say to my students “Right now, you are exactly where you’re supposed to be and it’s perfect.” And it is. YOU are perfect in this moment, whether you are giving or receiving, whether it’s your first time on the mat or you’ve been with us the whole year.
Authenticity is of huge importance to me as not only a soul warrior, but also a business woman. I feel it is vital for me to offer myself in full to the community as a leader, a role model and a shoulder to lean on whenever you need me. The stronger I stand in my truth and teach from the heart, the more students walk through the front door. The more “woo-woo” I bring in the front door, the more we ignore typical social constructs and follow our hearts; the more of you walk through the front door.

These past two weeks have been entirely about ease. By following my heart and giving whatever I can to the community, you have been giving back to me ten-fold. And in this, the ease is found. My heart has been beyond lifted and my smile is wider than you’ll ever see.

Thank you all so much for the love. You have no idea what it means to me.
