Riding on the Coat Tails of Hope

Have you ever had a dream so tangible you thought you could taste it? You could see the end in sight, you had plans and intentions. Maybe you did a special dance, went to a crystal bowl workshop and even set forth to conquer your amazing dreams.

And then the anvil drops. That beautiful dream is gone and there is no way to get it back. It seems as though everything is over and your life has come to an end.

About a year ago, my husband and I were going to buy the most beautiful condo. It was near the beach, had gorgeous natural light and nice dark hardwood floors. I was obsessed. I dreamed in color palettes and design. I knew exactly where I would be placing our very minimal amounts of furniture. I couldn’t have been more thrilled.

And then the deal fell threw. Mind you we had a place to call our own and weren’t on any specific time restraints but it hurt with every fiber of my being. I could feel the pain in my bones and was having trouble breathing even in yoga.

What happened next?

Another beautiful door opened. The loss of this beautiful condo near the ocean opened the opportunity for an even more beautiful home with more of the features I REALLY wanted: a fireplace, a bay window and the most miraculous and beautiful kitchen I have ever seen (it’s even painted dark red, the root chakra). I knew the moment we saw it that we had lost the condo deal because we were meant to live in our home.

Sometimes the universe creates opportunities for us to slow down. It can be painful and one of the hardest moments of our lives, but you will survive. That’s why we have hope. As my husband said through my tears “this is the universe’s way of telling you something better is on the way, just wait!”

Hope keeps us alive and keeps us going. It’s the tiny whisper of “maybe” amongst all the big, loud No’s. It is the willpower that helps us get back on our feet when the wind has been knocked out of us.

Often times it makes us so passionate that we come back that much stronger!

Keep your hope alive. If something happens to your dream, no matter how big, do not let it stop you! Do not give up. You’re so close. This is just an obstacle. Take a deep breath, get back up and start again. Do NOT give up – get out there and do it. Whatever IT is, it’s where you are supposed to be.

Keep trying because you’re almost there.
Get out there-do yoga & make life sparkle!
Namaste,
Jenny

I had a very similar thing happen to me as well. I had my heart and mind set on a specific place to live and when it didn’t come through I was pretty devastated. But low and behold something even better than I’d imagined came through. Isn’t it great how that happens? Next time I’ll have more faith that the universe has my back 🙂
