The Art of Self Care

So often people get caught up in the word “self-care” or “self-love.” I have heard so many people refer to this language as “something that happens behind closed doors” and while that may contribute to it (if that is your version of self-love), self-care is SO MUCH MORE than sex.

Self love is something that can be simple and not complex. Self-care could be reading a book for a few minutes each morning that you picked up at the library. It could be a few extra moments in bed with a loved one snuggling under the covers. Self-love can be the smell of the ocean, or a walk with your puppy. It could be a deep and meaningful conversation with a friend in the middle of the night who just needs to hear a kind word.

Self-love is not selfish, it is selfless. It is knowing the difference in the moments we need to breathe & stay grounded and those moments when we need to walk away. It is HONORING your body.

Self love is ANYTHING that feeds your soul or makes your heart crack open.

Self love is YOURS.
